Late in the first quarter, Ohio State has taken its first lead over Indiana in the Big Ten Championship on a Julian Sayin pass to Carnell Tate. But it wasn’t as easy as that.
After a Buckeye punt, it was the Ohio State defense coming up big once again. On a third and two, IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza tried to throw a wide receiver screen that was sniffed out by Lorenzo Styles Jr. immediately. Styles timed the hit on the receiver perfectly, popping the ball up in the air where Davison Igbinosun gobbled it up for the interception, giving the offense a short field to work with.

After a few plays and a couple penalties on each side, OSU faced a second and goal from the nine-yard line. The Hoosier pass rush got some pressure on Sayin, who scrambled out of the pocket to find a wide open Tate in the back of the endzone, giving Ohio State a 7-3 lead early in the game.
Take a look at the interception and then the touchdown pass as the Buckeyes look to continue to build on the lead.
First, the Igbinosun take away…
Then the Sayin to Tate score.
