College Basketball Rankings December 8: Boilers Fall

by

The past 24 hours or so we have seen an incredible rarity. Purdue, which had never been the No. 1 twam in the AP Poll for men’s basketball until just a few years ago, was at No. 1. Indiana, which had never before reached No. 1 in football and often had not been ranked at all, was No. 1 in football. Such is the current state of our favorite rivalry.

That did not last long, however, as Purdue’s surprising 23 point home loss to Iowa State naturally came with the cost of losing the top spot. It wasn’t a bad loss, as Iowa State is a good team, but the combination of their performance and Purdue’s dreadful shooting day carried the day. As a result, Purdue tumbled five spots to No. 6.

Also, Nebraska is ranked in basketball and Indiana is ranked No. 1 in football. 2025 is weird, man.
