🚨 BREAKING: Lionel Messi named MLS MVP for second-straight season

by

Inter Miami and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi has been crowned MVP of Major League Soccer for the second-straight season, a historic feat.

The 38-year-old won the MLS Golden Boot after a superb 2025 campaign in which he bagged 29 goals and 19 assists in the regular season, following up a 2024 campaign in which he scored 20 goals for the Herons.

Messi went into the final week of the regular season with the Golden Boot race in the balance, but the Argentine magician scored five goals in the final two games to blow his competitors out of the water before leading Miami to the club’s first ever MLS Cup triumph in the postseason.

Messi becomes just the second player in league history to be crowned MVP twice after former MLS great Preki won the award in 1997 and 2003.

However, the Inter Miami star is the first player in league history to win the award in back-to-back seasons.

Messi extended his contract with Inter Miami in October, ensuring that the superstar will be in town as the club moves to Freedom Park, a new hub featuring a 25,000-seat stadium.
