The Red Storm’s Senior Day matchup against the heavyweight Huskies is getting the top-billing venue it deserves.
St. John’s announced they will host UConn for a home game at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, March 1, the first time the women’s basketball team plays a standalone game at the World’s Most Famous Arena. Tip-off for the matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on truTV and HBO Max. The news was first reported in late November by St. John’s student publication The Torch.
This upcoming game will be the Red Storm’s 19th all-time contest at the Garden, where they hold an all-time 11-7 record. St. John’s won both of its last two home conference games at MSG, defeating Villanova in the 2023-24 season and Butler in the 2024-25 season, and will face UConn at the Mecca for the first time since January 2015.
