If there is the notion that Big Ten teams only despise one another, don’t tell that to Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball coach Dusty May.

May was locked in last Saturday watching the Indiana Hoosiers upset the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium.
May, an Indiana native, could not help but fathom how awesome it was to watch the Hoosiers’ dream season continue.
“‘Shocked’ is not the word… I’ve learned a lot just from watching Coach Cignetti,” May told OutKick’s Dan Dakich. “I was glad I was allowed to cheer for them for three hours because of their opponent on Saturday.”
The Buckeyes entered the game with immense momentum, having maintained the nation’s No. 1 ranking while the Hoosiers picked up where this past season’s momentum left off with an undefeated mark of their own.

Although the Wolverines football program is in full-blown crisis mode, the basketball program couldn’t be in a stronger position to contend amongst college basketball’s elite teams. Sitting at No. 2 in the most recent AP Poll and at 9-0, Michigan has shown few weaknesses as conference play gets underway.
If the Michigan basketball team can take a lesson from Indiana, it’s that ignoring outside noise and just simply playing the game the way it’s supposed to be played is usually the best recipe for success.
It’s safe to assume May will be rooting for Cignetti one way or another when their postseason journey begins New Year’s Day.
