India National Cricket Team mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy is known for his calm and cool demeanour and is not someone who gives send-offs to batters after dismissing them.
However, a different version of Varun Chakravarthy was seen during the second T20I between the India National Cricket Team and the South Africa National Cricket Team at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh.
Varun Chakravarthy cleaned up Aiden Markram in the 2nd T20I
Chakravarthy has emerged as India’s strike bowler in T20I cricket, and many former cricketers have put him on the same pedestal as Jasprit Bumrah in the shorter format of the game.

The mystery spinner is currently the No. 1-ranked bowler in the ICC T20I Rankings, and he once again showed why he’s best with his performance in the second game against the Proteas.
Varun Chakravarthy bagged a wicket on the very first ball he bowled in the match and then registered the figures of 4-0-29-2 on a batting-friendly track.
He was also engaged in a fiery battle with South Africa skipper Aiden Markram during the innings. Varun Chakravarthy and Aiden Markram came face-to-face during the 12th over.
On the second ball of the over, Markram dispatched the Indian spinner for a 77m six and then followed it up with another six over long-on.
Chakravarthy was able to make a good comeback as he then bowled back-to-back dot balls before dismissing Aiden Markram on the sixth ball for 29 runs. The spinner was pumped up after getting the wicket and hurled expletives in a fiery send-off to the batter.

Not a lot of cricket being played international-wise, so we would have bowled first – Aiden Markram
Speaking at the toss, the Proteas skipper Aiden Markram stated that they want to take learnings from the losses and move forward in the right direction. He explained:
“We would have done the same. Looked a pretty good wicket to the eye. Not a lot of cricket being played international-wise, so we would have bowled first. But having said that, we can put some runs on the board early and hopefully get them under some pressure.
“There are always lessons to take, but I don’t think you want to dive too deep into things. Make peace with the fact that we can have nights like that, and we unfortunately had that in the first game. But the opportunity is there for us tonight to get it right and make some strides. I think that’s where a lot of the focus is. I haven’t thought of that to be honest.
“I’m not too sure. We’ll get feedback after the first few balls are over and sort of plan it from there. But yeah, I’m hoping to get off to a good start, build some good partnerships tonight, and it gives us a good chance to put up a good total. Not because of the pitch, but just from a rotation point of view, we’ve got three changes: Stubbs, Maharaj and Nortje are out, Reeza, Linde and Baartman are in.”
