Iowa State beats Iowa 66-62 in a comeback that saw the Cyclones down by 13 at one point in the first half to close the half down by eight. Iowa State came out strong in the second half, going on a 16-0 run to propel itself into the driver’s seat for the rest of the half. Jimmy Rogers made a guest appearance to support his fellow ex-Jackrabbit coach.
Iowa State was led today by Joshua Jefferson, who finished with 24 points, 7-13 from the floor, 3-6 from 3-point, five rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two blocks. Tamin Lipsey finished with 14 points and four rebounds. Blake Buchanan ended with the team-high four blocks. Milan Momcilovic had 10 points while missing only one 3-point shot.
Iowa State held Drake Bulldogs Bennett Stirtz to his second-lowest point total, 10. Stirz was also below his assist average, steals average and ended with three turnovers. Iowa’s scoring was led by Drake Bulldog Tavion Banks, who scored 14.

After this game, Iowa State is now up 15-2 with four sports remaining. If Iowa State can win three of the last four, it will tie the biggest point total in the series, ending 21-4.
