Makai Lemon becomes second USC receiver to win Biletnikoff Award

What USC fans have known for quite some time is now official: Makai Lemon is the best receiver in college football. On Friday, Lemon was officially awarded the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the top pass catcher in the country.

Lemon finished the regular season with 79 receptions for 1,156 yards, the most of any Power Four receiver. He also caught 11 touchdown passes, while adding two rushing scores and a touchdown pass thrown for good measure.

Lemon becomes the second Trojan to win the award. The other USC player to take home the honor was Marqise Lee in 2012.

After arriving at USC as a highly-touted recruit in the class of 2023, Lemon saw playing time as a reserve his true freshman year before emerging as a starter at wide receiver in 2024. It was not until this season, however, that he truly broke out, putting together one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in USC’s storied history at the position

Now, he is officially the best receiver in the country.
