Highlights! Contender Series standout Steven Asplund turns in wild (and incredibly bloody) TKO debut | UFC Vegas 112

by

Steven Asplund turned in a bloody debut performance earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) at UFC Vegas 112 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping fellow heavyweight Sean Sharaf with a nasty second-round TKO (punches and elbows).

Both fighters came out firing and unloaded everything they had. Surprisingly, each heavyweight kept the volume up and found success in waves over the first five minutes of action. However, it was Asplund who landed more frequently and utilized his lead jab to open up a nasty (and very bloody) cut between Sharaf’s eyes. The cageside physician took a close look before the second round and allowed the fight to continue.

Asplund somehow kept the pressure up to begin the second frame. Outside of a brief pause in action following an accidental low blow, Asplund completely dominated the standup and ended up turning Sharaf into a bloody mess. To Sharaf’s credit he didn’t go down and kept trying to land a Hail Mary punch, but the referee eventually saw enough and stepped in for the stoppage. It was a great follow up to his 16 second knockout performance on the Contender Series back in September.
