Last week, the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2026 inductee class, which includes Virginia’s Tony Bennett. The inductees are considered a “group of athletes, coaches, administrators, and contributors selected for their significant achievements and lasting impact on sports in the Commonwealth.”
According to a release, Bennett is being recognized not only for his coaching achievements but also for his commitment to player development. The ceremony honoring Bennett and his fellow inductees will be held in April.
‘Hoos In The NBA: Trey Murphy, Jay Huff Off To Strong Starts – Streaking The Lawn
The University of Virginia is tied for 16th-most active NBA players among all colleges and universities. Ryan Dunn, De’Andre Hunter, Ty Jerome, Trey Murphy, Jay Huff, and now Kyle Guy are all making moves in the pros.

Murphy, now in his fifth season, is scoring 21.1 points a game with 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the Pelicans. He’s shooting nearly 49% from the floor and 36% from deep.
Meanwhile, Jay Huff is playing his first year with the Indiana Pacers after being traded from Memphis in July. He’s averaging 8.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in just over 19 minutes a game.
ACC Announces 2026 League Opponents as Move to Nine-Game Conference Schedule Begins – Atlantic Coast Conference
As Virginia football winds down its 2025 season, fans can look forward to the newly released conference opponents for 2026 as the ACC transitions to a nine-game conference schedule. With 2026 being the transition year into this new schedule, 12 teams will play nine conference games, while five will play only eight, to satisfy conference contracts. The full transition across the ACC will take off in 2027.

For now, Virginia is one of the 12 teams that will see nine conference opponents, including California, Duke, North Carolina, NC State (College Football Brasil), and Syracuse at home. On the road, the ’Hoos will play Florida State, SMU, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
