Major champion Georgia Hall has announced she is expecting her first child.
The 29-year-old shared the news through the AIG Women’s Open’s official website and Instagram, confirming the baby is due early in the New Year.
Hall, who has not competed since finishing tied 25th at the PIF London Championship in August, revealed she is expecting a boy.
“It will give me a different purpose and a new perspective on my golf,” Hall said. “I’ve been on tour for more than 10 years, mostly thinking about myself.
Now, starting a family feels really special and it will be lovely to have a son there to watch and share it with me.”
The Englishwoman secured her sole major title so far at the 2018 Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
