Texas A&M senior IDL earns East-West Shrine Bowl invite

by

There are several ways outside of the regular season to put out more good tape for scouts. The first way is to make it to the CFP, and another effective way is to accept invitations to any postseason event that makes sense. Any time you can make an impression in front of NFL decision-makers, you should take it, and another Texas A&M Aggie has found the perfect spot to showcase his skill set.

On Friday, it was announced that senior defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim has accepted his invitation to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl. Onyedim was brought in to help shore up the interior defensive line and bring another veteran presence. While being part of a talented rotation, he managed to record a career high in tackles (45) and a .5 sack shy of his career high (1.5) during the regular season.

The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America’s football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to display their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.

No. 7-seed Texas A&M hosts the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes (10-2) in a CFP first-round game at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at Kyle Field. The game can be viewed on ABC/ESPN.
