Anderson Silva still has power at 50, and he’s not afraid to use it.
He showed that Friday when he defeated fellow former UFC champion Tyron Woodley by TKO at 1:33 of Round 2 during their boxing match on the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua undercard at Kaseya Center in Miami.

Silva (4-2) finished Woodley (0-3) with punches with relative ease. A big uppercut, accompanied by a toe tap, that Silva threw crashed through Woodley’s guard, instantly wobbling him. A few follow-up punches sent Woodley down on all fours. Woodley beat the referee’s count to 10 but did not move toward Silva upon the signal from the referee to resume fighting, forcing the TKO stoppage.
After the fight, Silva called for former UFC rival Chris Weidman, his originally scheduled opponent on the card. He also announced that he’s pursuing a career as a police officer as a way to give back to the United States.
Silva did not rule out another boxing match in the future.
