No. 17 Louisville (12-3) defeated No. 18Β TennesseeΒ (7-3), 89-65, on Saturday in the Shark Beauty Women’s Champions Classic at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Louisville outrebounded the Lady Vols, 59-37. Tennessee committed 17 turnovers to the Cardinals’ 20. Louisville also scored 22 points off turnovers.

Second-year Tennessee head coach Kim Caldwell recapped the Lady Vols’ performance after the game.
βWe had a terrible display of basketball today,β Caldwell said. βWe did a scout. It didn’t look like we did a scout. We didn’t rebound. We got beat to every 50-50 ball. They were leaps and bounds tougher than us today.β
Tennessee will next play Dec. 22 versus Southern Indiana. Tipoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. EST at Food City Center (SEC Network+).
The Lady Vols will open SEC play on Jan. 1, 2026 versus Florida at Food City Center (2 p.m. EST, SEC Network+).
