Florida State women’s basketball (5-9, 0-2 ACC) snapped its five-game losing streak Saturday with an 89-41 rout of South Carolina State (3-11) at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
The Seminoles controlled all four quarters, dominating in points and on the glass. FSU outrebounded the Bulldogs 61-35 while shooting 42 percent from the field (30 of 72) and 29 percent from 3-point range (6 of 29). Every Seminole recorded at least one rebound for the third time this season.

Three players scored in double figures, and two posted double-doubles. Graduate guard Jasmine Shavers led the way with a season-high 29 points and 12 rebounds. The Texas Tech transfer surpassed 1,500 career points and was perfect at the free-throw line (11 of 11). She shot 7 of 13 from the field and 4 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Junior forward Pania Davis added her second career double-double with 14 points and a career-best 16 rebounds. Sole Williams was the third-leading scorer with 14 points. Avery Treadwell came off the bench to grab 11 rebounds, along with six points and one block.

What’s next for FSU women’s hoops
FSU completed its nonconference play. Once the team returns from their holiday break, they will start the New Year off on the road at Syracuse on Thursday, Jan 1, at 6 p.m. Then, they will return to the Civic Center to host Virginia the following Sunday at 2 p.m.
