LSU women’s basketball added another win to its 2025-26 season Sunday. The No. 5 Tigers defeated Texas Arlington 110-45 inside the PMAC, bringing their record to 13-0 with one game left before the SEC schedule begins.

Grace Knox tallied a double-double, exploding for 25 points and 12 rebounds on 10 of 18 shooting from the field. MiLaysia Fulwiley followed with 23 points and five steals of LSU’s 19. Amiya Joyner also notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Flau’Jae Johnson also scored 14 points, and Jada Richard added 10 points.

The Tigers shot 48.8% from the field for the game and pulled down 62 rebounds, including 36 on the defensive end. They turned 34 turnovers from the Mustangs into 42 points and also scored 25 fast-break points.

Back-and-forth play ensued in the first quarter but LSU pulled away with under four minutes remaining thanks to an 11-0 run. Runs of 8-0 and 13-0 powered the Tigers to a 30-point lead midway through the second quarter, putting the game far out of reach before the end of the first half.

Here’s what head coach Kim Mulkey had to say following the contest.

Mulkey wants better complementary basketball

“It would be fun to shoot the ball better and play a little bit better defense and see what we really could look like.”

“This game is the highest of highs and lowest of lows. And, man, if you ever get one where you put it all together, it’s a fun thing to watch.”

LSU freshman Grace Knox has a career day

“She’s just an athlete. Good Lord, you can’t block her out. You can’t keep her from flying to the boards. She finishes in traffic. She works really hard defensively for a freshman.”

“She’s going to make mistakes, but her mistakes are done with effort. You’re not going to bury Grace too many times in that paint. She’ll pull that chair out from under you and try to get a deflection. She might have had her best game here since she’s been at LSU.”

“I don’t even know if this kid realizes just how special she can become and she had done something on the floor and it might have just been a little thing, but she’s got some God-given tools. She really does.”

Richard continues improving as SEC play looms

“She’s working on being more of a positive leader and understanding it’s not about you, Jada. It’s not about you. It’s about everybody else and when everybody else does good, then it’s a reflection of you.”

“She can score the ball, but that’s not your first priority. I can get you shots and you’re going to get shots in our system. Your job is to basically, if I fall dead over there on that sideline, ‘Coach, I got this. I know everything we need to do.’ and that’s everything that’s required of her. It’s an unselfishness that you have to have with the understanding, ‘I’m not a liability either. She’s going to have to play me,” so all the things that you have to do as a point guard, it’s time-consuming to learn.”

“Jada has done this for quite some time and so she’s real, real comfortable having played just the one position, but she’s just getting better. Her demeanor, body language, all that is a part of it. You can’t have a sourpuss look if you’re playing bad or come out of the game.”

“Those guys on that floor need to look at you for confidence and so she’s really, really, in a lot of ways, separated herself from that freshman year. And I’m really, really pleased with Jada.”
