Kendal Grey is no stranger to pressureβand sheβs not backing down from her biggest test yet. With a huge match lined up against Jacy Jayne at NXTβs New Yearβs Evil, the Evolve standout-turned-NXT breakout is ready to put it all on the line.
Speaking on Going Ringside, Grey opened up about how much this match means to her and how she plans to rise to the challenge.
βI think this is probably one of my biggest tests here in NXT so far. Especially like coming from like EvolveβI have, you know, a lot of opportunities on Evolveβbut now testing myself against the best women in NXT, itβs a big challenge for me. So there is like a lot of pressure there, but I feel like going into this match, I just have to trust in my training, trust in myself, bet on myself, and just go out there and wrestle and do what I do best.β
Despite Jacy Jayneβs winning streak and momentum, Grey isnβt letting any of that shake her confidence. Sheβs faced long odds beforeβand came out on top.
βI think itβs possible. Like, I know Iβm going in as the underdog. Iβm going in like no oneβs probably expecting me to win, but no one expected me to win the Iron Survivor either. So thereβs nothing the underdog canβt do. So I definitely think itβs possible.β
Greyβs confidence isnβt about cockinessβitβs grounded in experience. From her days wrestling boys in high school to making a mark in Evolve and now standing across from one of NXTβs most consistent performers, Kendal Grey has never let expectations define her.
As the NXT crowd gears up for New Yearβs Evil, all eyes will be on Grey to see if she can turn another longshot into a breakout moment.
