After an early exit from the CFP, the Texas A&M football team now faces the difficult task of assembling its 2026 roster and must closely monitor the transfer portal for both departures and the best available players to fill several key needs.
The most significant area of concern is along both sides of the line. There is a high probability that A&M will lose all four starters on the defensive line and potentially all five on the offensive line. While there is some solid depth, they need to add proven production to bridge the gap as the Aggie staff continues to develop its talented recruiting classes. Another worrying position is place kicker, and it’s not out of the question that they bring in a portal kicker to compete for the job.

We are in an era where the transfer portal can be just as crucial as a draft class, and several coaches have thrived in it, including new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin. Coach Mike Elko has also landed multiple key contributors through the portal, helping the Aggies to an 11-2 season, signing All-Americans Cashius Howell and KC Concepcion, along with other starters like Will Lee III, Ar’Maj Reed-Adams, and Tyler Onyedim.
To help keep track, here is the updated transfer portal losses and additions tracker for the January portal window:
