Former Super Rugby Americas (SRA) champions, Los Dogos are ready for the SRA 2026 season. A significantly different looking roster has been named to begin preparations for the 2026 season in January. The 46-man Dogos roster contains a combination of familiar names from past campaigns and newcomers.
Los Dogos will open their SRA 2026 season against the Brazilian franchise, Os Cobras. The opening round fixture will be a home match in Córdoba on February 20. It will be followed with the Argentine classic of Los Pampas vs Los Dogos in Buenos Aires in round two.
| DOGOS EXPORTS – PLAYERS NOW ABROAD |
During the two years of Felipe Contepomi in charge of Los Pumas, Los Dogos have seen players receiving calls and going on to make their test debuts for Argentina. The players pictured below have all been capped and all now play their rugby in elite competitions abroad. In addition, Faustino Sánchez Valarolo remains in Argentina and will play for Los Dogos in SRA 2026.
Boris Wenger (Harlequins, GB-ENG)

Pedro Delgado (Harlequins, GB-ENG)

Efraín Elías (Toulouse, FR)

Franco Molina (Western Force, AU)

Agustín Moyano (Western Force, AU)

The aforementioned capped Pumas are all instances of Dogos players no longer involved in the set-up. There has also been an exodus due to the formation of a new Argentine franchise for SRA 2026.
Back-rower Ignacio Gandini, who is also a former captain of Paraguay’s SRA franchise has been recruited to play for the Rosario franchise, Los Capibaras.
Los Capibaras have also recruited seven Dogos players who happen to be former SRA champions with the Córdoba franchise. They are Gandini, Lautaro Ciprani, Juan Baronio, Felipe Villagrán, Franco Rosetto and Diego Correa.
Los Dogos’ players are heavily homegrown. That is to say, the bulk of the players come from Córdoba city and provincial rugby clubs. Córdoba Athletic, Jockey, La Tablada, Palermo Bajo, San Martín, Tala, Universitario de Córdoba, and Urú Curé are all represented.
Players from clubs outside of Córdoba province include Aitor Bildosola from Mendoza club Los Tordos and Tomás Canedo and Ernesto Giudice from Mendoza RC. Four others from Mendoza: Julián Hernández of Genaro Podestá, Tomás Gómez González and Valentín González. They all play for Marista.
