Former Wisconsin offensive line coach A.J. Blazek did not take long to find his next coaching gig. According to On3/Rivals, the veteran assistant is set to join Scott Frost’s staff at UCF.
Wisconsin recently moved on from Blazek following the 2025 season, hiring former Arkansas OL coach Eric Mateos to take over. The program struggled mightily along the line for much of the 2025 campaign. Improved play at the position is a major key to the team redirecting its trajectory in 2026.

Blazek, meanwhile, will join a UCF program that went 5-7 in 2025; Frost’s first season at the helm since 2017. Blazek will notably join former Wisconsin safeties coach Alex Grinch on the Knights’ staff. Grinch left Wisconsin after the 2024 campaign to take UCF’s vacant defensive coordinator role.
With much of the coaching staff movement complete, Wisconsin, UCF and others across the sport will now gear up for a busy transfer cycle, which will officially begin on Jan. 2.
