Hyan and Maya World are All Elite and AEW President Tony Khan revealed why they were signed in the first place.
Tony Khan confirmed during the Worlds End media scrum that the duo were officially signed—and he didn’t hold back his praise. Khan started by acknowledging their consistency and quality, noting how Hyan and Maya World had exceeded expectations every time they appeared for AEW in the past.
He stated that both women have earned the respect of their peers backstage, which often says just as much about a performer as what they do in the ring. That respect—combined with their ring work—made them clear picks to be officially signed.
“I think they’ve been doing a fantastic job. Hyan and Maya World came in and delivered time after time. They’ve been more competitive and have put on great matches. Everyone in the locker room respects them. They bring something great to the roster.”
Another key reason for bringing them onboard? Their versatility. Khan noted that AEW’s women’s division can benefit from talent who thrive in both singles and tag team competition—and Hyan and Maya fit the bill:
“Having stronger names for singles and tag teams helps, since they’re both good individual wrestlers as well. I thought Hyan and Maya World would make a great addition to the roster.”
Finally, Khan revealed that this signing was also symbolic. With 2025 coming to a close, he wanted to end the year by giving importance to something meaningful and optimistic—two great stars who’ve put in the work and earned their contracts:
“I wanted to end 2025 on a positive note, so I wanted to make it official that Hyan and Maya World are both All Elite.”
With the AEW women’s division evolving and new contenders constantly rising, it’ll be interesting to see how Hyan and Maya are booked in 2026, especially since fans feel they will definitely become AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions one day.
