Why didn’t Grace Knox play in LSU women’s basketball’s Sunday game?

by

When LSU women’s basketball took the court for its nonconference finale against Alabama State on Sunday, it was missing a key piece to its roster. Grace Knox was absent from the contest, which the No. 5 Tigers won 109-41. Head coach Kim Mulkey addressed Knox’s status following the contest

“Grace and I knew going into the break that she was going to come in late,” Mulkey said. “She needed to take care of some business, and I was in total support of that. She’ll be here tomorrow and ready to go on Tuesday.”

The highest-rated prospect in LSU’s 2025 signing class, Knox averages 11.5 and 5.8 rebounds per game on 69% shooting from the field. In her last outing, when LSU played Texas-Arlington, she notched a double-double with a career-high 25 points and 12 rebounds. Her shooting percentage from two puts her in the 98th percentile nationally.

Primarily coming off the bench, Knox is a key cog in the Tigers’ fast-paced play. She contributes on the perimeter and inside on both ends of the floor. With SEC play looming, the Tigers need the talented true freshman available and it appears she’s a go.
