STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women’s basketball added an international player to its 2025-26 roster.
Melissa Guillet will be joining the Bulldogs in January, the program announced on Dec. 29. She’s a 6-foot-1 guard from France.

Guillet has played the last two seasons at Basket Club La Tronche Meylan, appearing in a game as recently as Dec. 20. She’s averaging 7.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game in 17.7 minutes.
Guillet will be listed as a freshman on Mississippi State’s roster.
“Adding Melissa this late in the year is an awesome opportunity,” MSU coach Sam Purcell said in a statement. “She has been playing the game at the highest level, and her international experience will be huge for us as she joins the program and helps us chase championships.”
The Bulldogs (13-1) concluded their nonconference schedule on Dec. 28 with a 112-54 win against Samford. It was the most points scored in a game during Purcell’s four seasons as the coach. Four players recorded double-doubles.

MSU starts SEC play against Auburn (10-3) on Jan. 1 (6:30 p.m., SEC Network+) at Humphrey Coliseum.

Guillet will be the second international player to join MSU this season along with forward Favour Nwaedozi.
Nwaedozi is from Nigeria but played the last two seasons in Japan. She’s MSU’s leading scorer, averaging 14.6 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, and scored a career-high 30 points against Samford.
