During Iowa women’s basketball’s (11-2, 2-0 Big Ten) 99-76 win over Penn State (7-6, 0-2 Big Ten), freshman guard Journey Houston continued to blossom into a true all-around weapon for the Hawkeyes as she recorded her first career double-double against the Nittany Lions on Sunday evening.
Coming off the bench for 19 minutes, the 6-foot native of Davenport, Iowa, scored 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting from the floor and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line, to go along with 11 rebounds (six offensive and five defensive).
For Houston, this is another outstanding effort off the bench and another step forward in proving to Jensen that she can be a reliable option for the Hawkeyes moving forward, especially with the current injury absences of sophomore Emely Rodriguez and graduate guard Kylie Feuerbach.

Houston’s next opportunity to build on the impressive performance will be when the Hawkeyes host rival and No. 24 Nebraska (12-0, 2-0 Big Ten) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on New Year’s Day. That game is scheduled to tip off at 1 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
