BATON ROUGE – LSU women’s basketball looks to finish off the nonconference portion of its 2025-26 schedule undefeated.
Only thing standing in Kim Mulkey and her team’s way is Alabama State. No. 5 LSU (13-0) hosts the Hornets (3-7) inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Sunday (3 p.m. CT, SEC Network+).

The Tigers have not been tested in the couple of months of the season as Mulkey is using the nonconference slate to determine her seven- to eight-player rotation for when they open up Southeastern Conference play with No. 11 Kentucky at home Jan. 1.

Junior guard MiLaysia Fulwiley has been one of the number of bright spots for LSU so far this season. She leads the Tigers loaded with scorers at 15.9 points per game. Seven players average scoring in double figures including stars Flau’jae Johnson (15.5), Mikaylah Williams (12.8), freshmen sensations ZaKiyah Johnson (11.8) and Grace Knox (11.5) along with other newcomers Kate Koval (11.3) and Amiya Joyner (10.8).
Alabama State is very familiar with playing SEC opponents as it has played four teams in the league. The Hornets have given up 352 points in four games against SEC teams, allowing Mississippi State to score 105 last time out. LSU has scored 100 or more points 10 times in its first 13 games.
