MARSHALL, Texas — The UW-Eau Claire women’s basketball team upset 20th ranked East Texas Baptist University 75-69 on Monday with a decisive fourth-quarter surge to begin the ETBU Holiday Tournament.
The Blugolds capitalized on turnovers, scoring 27 points off ETBU’s 18 giveaways.

The Blugolds pulled ahead with a 26-point final quarter, overcoming a third-quarter deficit.
Senior Reanna Hutchinson scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead UW-Eau Claire. She also recorded four rebounds and two assists.
Senior teammate Kyla Overskei added 17 points and seven rebounds, converting all four of her free-throw attempts.
UWEC’s Delaney Nyenhuis contributed with 12 points and six rebounds, and she tallied three steals. Kailey Tulachka made an impact with two steals and five rebounds.
The Blugolds improved to 9-1 overall. East Texas Baptist is now 11-3.
UW Stout women earn win

DUBUQUE, Iowa — The UW-Stout women’s basketball team opened the Paxton Pack Classic by rolling to a 76–52 victory over host Dubuque on Monday night at the Stoltz Sports Center.
The Blue Devils (8–2) set the tone early and never trailed, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to pull away from the Spartans (4–6).
UW-Stout continued to extend the lead after halftime, shooting nearly 77 percent in the third quarter while stretching the margin to as many as 26 points.
Grace Schisel led the way offensively, pouring in a career-high 17 points as a Blue Devil, including four 3-pointers off the bench.

Addy Verhagen finished with 12 points and five assists for UW-Stout.
MEN’S BASKETBALLBlue Devils fall to Lawrence
OSHKOSH, Wis. — UW-Stout returned from the holiday break on Monday night but fell 70–57 to Lawrence in a non-conference matchup.
The Vikings used a strong opening half to build separation, shooting 45.2 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes to take a 37–22 lead into halftime.
UW-Stout battled throughout the second half and outscored Lawrence 35–33 after the break, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Collin Vick led the Blue Devils offensively with a season-high 12 points while also pulling down eight rebounds. Tyrel Creger finished with a game-high 15 points, knocking down three 3-pointers. Wesley Mboga added nine points and six rebounds.
Nolan Stauffacher provided a spark off the bench, scoring seven points and grabbing three rebounds. Aidan Shore contributed six rebounds and three blocks.
