The college basketball world will be locked in on the Spartans on Friday night.
No. 9 Michigan State travels to No. 13 Nebraska on Friday for what should be a high-level Big Ten basketball game. This marks the third conference game for both teams, but first since early December for both.

Michigan State comes into this matchup with wins in their last four games, and boasting a 12-1 overall record and 2-0 mark in conference play. The Spartans needed a strong second half to pull away from pesky Cornell earlier this week — which was their first game back since the holiday break.
Nebraska is a perfect 13-0 on the year, with a 2-0 mark in Big Ten play as well. The Cornhuskers, like Michigan State, needed a strong second half to avoid an upset scare earlier this week against New Hampshire.

Prediction: Michigan State 70, Nebraska 79
While it’s still winter break for the students, it’s never easy playing at Nebraska and that is only magnified when you’re facing a Cornhuskers team as good as this one. Nebraska has built up a fraudulent early season impressive record in the past, but that’s not the case this year. This is a legit good team and this will be a tough game for the Spartans to win unless they play at their best. I like Nebraska to earn the victory here.
