Oklahoma State football transfer portal live updates: Tracking who’s in, out for Cowboys

STILLWATER — With the change from Mike Gundy to Eric Morris as the Oklahoma State football coach, a considerable amount of transfer portal movement is to be expected.

Morris is bringing his general manager, 24-year-old Raj Murti, with him from North Texas, along with several members of his player personnel department.

The new staff immediately began molding the roster to fit its plans, and players started announcing decisions to enter the portal once the season ended.

The transfer portal window is officially open from Jan. 2-16 for most players across the country, including those at OSU who did not enter the portal during the 30-day window that opened after Gundy’s firing in September.

Here’s a look at who is coming and going for OSU in the portal this winter:

Players entering the transfer portal

Cameron Abshire, receiver

A 6-foot-4, 185-pound wideout, Abshire came to Oklahoma State from the Division II level at Emory and Henry University. In his lone season as a Cowboy, Abshire had 10 catches for 92 yards.

Jaden Allen-Hendrix, running back

An injury suffered in spring caused the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Allen-Hendrix to miss his redshirt freshman season at OSU, so the South Carolina native heads to the transfer portal never appearing in a game as a Cowboy.

Banks Bowen, quarterback

The son of former OSU interim defensive coordinator Clint Bowen, Banks Bowen played in three games while redshirting as a true freshman this season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Lawrence, Kansas, had his most notable appearance at his father’s alma mater, when the Cowboys played at Kansas.

Chandavian Bradley, defensive end

Signed out of the junior-college ranks a year ago, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Bradley appeared in 11 games and totaled three tackles.

Grayson Brousseau, tight end

The Cowboys’ starting tight end at the end of the season, Brousseau showed promise in his redshirt freshman campaign. After following tight ends coach DJ Tialavea from Utah State, Brousseau caught seven passes for 49 yards, emerging as a regular player late in the season after attrition hit the tight end position.

Tyler Brumfield, offensive line

A former junior-college All-American, the 6-foot-6, 319-pound Brumfield did not appear in a game during his one season at OSU. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Royal Capell, receiver

One of the most prominently used true freshmen in the 2025 class, Capell appeared in 11 of 12 games, catching 10 passes for 47 yards. He also rushed twice for 10 yards and routinely gained high praise from interim coach Doug Meacham for his football IQ as a young player. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Landyn Cleveland, safety

A regular player and occasional starter the last two seasons, the 6-foot, 190-pound Dallas native had 33 tackles over 12 games as a true sophomore in 2025.

Michael Diatta, defensive tackle

Though he has played at least eight games in each of the last four seasons between Oklahoma State and Virginia, Diatta announced his intention to enter the portal Jan. 1.

Davis Dotson, offensive line

Set to be a redshirt senior, the 6-foot-6, 305-pound Dotson appeared in 11 games this past season and 19 over his career. The Berryhill product served as a backup offensive lineman and special teams player during his four years with the Cowboys.

Kyran Duhon, defensive end

A transfer from UTEP, the 6-foot-1, 265-pound Duhon appeared in 11 games and finished the season with 16 tackles, including two for loss. He was a highly regarded transfer portal addition after a standout freshman season at UTEP and worked his way into a more regular role later in the season.

Ike Esonwune, linebacker

Esonwune totaled 31 tackles after working his way into a rotational spot as a redshirt sophomore in 2025. The 6-foot, 225-pound native of Austin, Texas, has two years of eligibility remaining.

Eric Fletcher, cornerback

The 6-foot, 190-pound Fletcher transferred from East Carolina last offseason, and slowly gained more and more playing time throughout the year. He finished his redshirt freshman season with 11 tackles and three pass breakups.

Zane Flores, quarterback

Flores served as the primary starter for the Cowboys in 2025, making eight starts in nine appearances. He threw for 1,490 yards with three touchdowns and seven interceptions, completing 59.8% of his passes. A 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Gretna, Nebraska, Flores has three years of eligibility remaining.

Wendell Gregory, edge rusher

The Big 12 defensive freshman of the year, Gregory was perhaps the biggest success story in the large transfer portal class the OSU staff brought in for the 2025 season. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound edge rusher finished the season with 27 tackles, including 12 for loss, four sacks and seven quarterback hurries.

Tre Griffiths, receiver

A 6-foot-3, 211-pound wideout, Griffiths saw minimal playing time over two seasons at OSU.

Hauss Hejny, quarterback

Named the starting quarterback for the Cowboys in the opener, Hejny was sidelined by a broken foot after the third series and did not play the rest of the season. A dual-threat player with elite quickness, Hejny is likely to be granted an additional year of eligibility, which will give him four seasons to play.

Jarrett Henry, offensive line

Henry spent three years at OSU as a backup offensive lineman, appearing in 11 games this past season, primarily on special teams. Originally from Palestine, Texas, the 6-foot-5, 320-pound Henry has two years of eligibility remaining.

Kalib Hicks, running back

After an impressive spring and heavy usage early in the season, Hicks faded into the background among OSU running backs in his redshirt sophomore season of 2025. He finished with 128 yards on 44 carries — 35 of which came in the first two games of the season.

JK Johnson, cornerback

A transfer who played at Ohio State and LSU before arriving in Stillwater, Johnson appeared in eight games as a backup in 2025. Because of an injury that cost him the entire 2023 season, he’s set to be a sixth-year senior next year.

Temerrick Johnson, linebacker

A 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker and edge rusher from Beaumont, Texas, Johnson appeared in two games and had one tackle this past season as a redshirt freshman.

Austin Kawecki, offensive line

A 6-foot-4, 300-pound veteran offensive lineman, Kawecki started all but one game this season as a redshirt junior. Ten of those starts came at center with one at right guard.

Da’Wain Lofton, receiver

After two years at Oklahoma State, Lofton will seek a new destination for his final season. Lofton appeared in just one game in 2025 because of injury, which earned him an additional year of eligibility. He played only four games in 2024, opting to redshirt. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Fort Worth, Texas, had seven catches for 150 yards in five games as a Cowboy.

Nuku Mafi, offensive line

After starting all season on the offensive line, Mafi announced Dec. 17 he intended to enter the portal. Originally from Rose Park, Utah, the 6-foot-4, 325-pound Mafi started the year at right tackle, but held down the left side for the final 11 games of his redshirt freshman season after an injury altered the lineup.

Taje McCoy, edge rusher

An Oklahoma City product, McCoy transferred to OSU after two years at Colorado. In his redshirt sophomore season as a Cowboy, he had 21 tackles and two sacks in 10 games.

Jaden Perez, receiver

Part of a big receiver recruiting class in 2025, the 6-foot, 170-pound San Antonio native did not appear in a game while redshirting last fall.

Jo Pierce, safety

A 6-foot-1, 200-pound freshman, Pierce did not appear in a game while redshirting this season. He was a highly regarded prospect out of Alabama who was recruited by a variety of SEC programs.

Shamar Rigby, receiver

One of the top receiving targets on the 2025 roster, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Rigby finished his lone season in Stillwater with 351 yards and a touchdown on 25 catches as a true sophomore. He also threw a 63-yard touchdown pass on a trick play. He followed former OSU assistant Cory Patterson to OSU from Purdue last offseason.

Markell Samuel, offensive lineman

A 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman, Samuel transferred to OSU from Appalachian State and started the season opener at left tackle. However, he suffered a fluke injury, breaking his foot during a walk-through in the team hotel the day before the Oregon game in September. After missing the rest of the season, Samuel is expected to be granted an additional year of eligibility.

Mason Schubert, quarterback

A Stillwater High School product, Schubert had initially signed with Southwestern Oklahoma State but joined the Cowboys late last summer. The left-hander operated as the scout team quarterback in practices while redshirting as a true freshman.

Talyn Shettron, receiver

An Edmond Santa Fe High School product, Shettron’s career has been derailed by injuries, limiting his overall impact. But he has shown glimpses of immense talent when on the field. A knee injury last spring wiped out his 2025 season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound redshirt junior had 354 yards and two touchdowns on 21 catches over 20 games in three seasons for the Cowboys.

Ayo Shotomide-King, receiver

A 6-foot-3, 225-pound wideout with one year of eligibility remaining, Shotomide-King played in 19 games over two seasons with the Cowboys as a backup receiver and special teams contributor.

Gage Stanaland, offensive line

A 6-foot-3, 300-pound interior lineman, Stanaland doubled as a blocking tight end in various packages this season. Regarded as a physical blocker, Stanaland has two years of eligibility remaining.

Carson Su’esu’e, tight end

A 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end, Su’esu’e appeared in two games late in the season while maintaining his redshirt status. A high school quarterback out of Oakley, California, Su’esu’e initially enrolled at BYU in January 2025 and went through spring as a linebacker. Over the summer, he transferred to OSU and moved to tight end.

Lavaka Taukeiaho, offensive line

The 6-foot-2, 330-pound Taukeiaho appeared in eight games, primarily on special teams, as a redshirt junior in his only season at OSU.

De’Marion Thomas, defensive tackle

A Tulsa native, the 6-foot-2, 337-pound Thomas played in four games before opting to redshirt this past season, his first at OSU. He played the previous two years at Vanderbilt.

Poasa Utu, linebacker

An athletically promising linebacker, the 6-foot, 230-pound Utu announced his intention to enter the portal on Dec. 17. Utu earned his most significant playing time as a redshirt sophomore this season, appearing in all 12 games and finishing with seven tackles and a sack.

Sesi Vailahi, running back

Serving as a backup running back over his three seasons at OSU, the 5-foot-9, 206-pound Vailahi played a versatile role as a rusher and pass-catcher for the Cowboys. As a redshirt sophomore this season, he had 152 yards and two touchdowns on 42 carries, plus 54 yards on eight receptions.

Jordan Vyborny, tight end

Vyborny redshirted in his first season of college football, recovering from a torn ACL suffered in his senior season of high school. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end announced his intention to transfer on Dec. 23.
