The No. 4 UConn menβs basketball team is not only dominating the regular season, but it is also chasing history. The Huskies recently set a modern-era NCAA Tournament record with 13 consecutive March Madness wins, a streak that began during their 2023 national championship run and continued through the 2025 tournament before ending in the Round of 32. That achievement tied Dukeβs historic mark from 1991β93 and further cemented UConnβs status as one of college basketballβs elite programs.

Now, the Huskies are closing in on another major milestone. With their current winning streak, UConn needs three more victories to tie the longest winning streak in program history. Upcoming matchups against Providence, DePaul, and Seton Hall will decide if the Huskies can reach that mark. If UConn defeats Georgetown after that stretch, it would set a new program record for most consecutive wins.
Wire-to-Wire Win Over Marquette
UConn continued its impressive run Sunday afternoon with a 73β57 wire-to-wire win over Marquette at Gampel Pavilion. The Huskies never trailed and earned their 10th straight victory, improving to 14β1 overall and 4β0 in BIG EAST play.
The win matched UConnβs best start through 15 games under head coach Dan Hurley and marked the fourth straight season the Huskies have posted a winning streak of at least 10 games.

Balanced Scoring Leads the Way
Solo Ball led UConn with 17 points and added a season-high eight rebounds, along with a steal and a block in a strong all-around performance. Silas Demary Jr. finished with 14 points despite dealing with foul trouble, while Tarris Reed Jr. contributed 13 points and nine rebounds, just missing a double-double.
From the opening tip, UConn set the tone with physical defense and strong play in the paint. Back-to-back dunks and consistent interior scoring helped the Huskies build a double-digit lead in the first half. A late basket by Reed sent UConn into halftime ahead 37β29.
Defense and Rebounding Seal the Win
The second half belonged to the Huskies. UConn opened with a quick scoring run, highlighted by a three-pointer from Ball, and stretched the lead to as many as 20 points. Marquette struggled to find any offensive rhythm, shooting just over 32 percent from the field.

Defense and rebounding were key to the victory. UConn finished with a 49β37 advantage on the boards, controlled second-chance opportunities, and blocked eight shots as a team. Jaylin Stewart, Alex Karaban, and freshman Eric Reibe all made important contributions, especially on defense. Reibe continued his steady play by grabbing at least five rebounds for the eighth time this season.
Momentum Builds Heading Into Providence
With the win, UConn has now defeated Marquette six straight times and remains unbeaten in BIG EAST play. As the Huskies prepare to face Providence next, they continue to build momentum and move closer to making program history.
