The 6-foot, 185-pound Sykes was originally a 3-star recruit in the class of 2024 ranked 1,663rd overall and 153rd among cornerbacks at 247 Sports Composite. This time around, he was a 3-star transfer recruit ranked 30th among cornerbacks.
Sykes held scholarship offers from BYU, South Florida, Navy, Army, Brown, Dartmouth, and Penn, among others, before signing with Western Carolina.
This past season, Sykes racked up 49 tackles, three interceptions, five pass breakups, and two sacks.
Kentucky has now landed Sykes, Arkansas linebacker Tavion Wallace, and Gardner-Webb edge Antonio O’Berry out of the transfer portal.
