Alabama lands commitment from Big Ten transfer offensive lineman

by

For the first time this offseason, the Alabama Crimson Tide have landed a commitment from an offensive lineman in the NCAA transfer portal, as Kaden Strayhorn committed to the program Tuesday night.

Strayhorn, who transfers to the Crimson Tide from Michigan, will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.

With the Wolverines, Strayhorn recently spent his 2025 true freshman season at Michigan this past fall, but did not see a significant amount of action. At center, Strayhorn appeared in only one game with the Wolverines.

Prior to Michigan, Strayhorn was a member of the Wolverines’ 2025 recruiting class where he was considered as the nation’s No. 519 overall prospect, as well as the No. 35 interior offensive lineman nationally, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. A three-star recruit, Strayhorn also attended IMG Academy in Florida where he was a teammate of starting Alabama offensive lineman Michael Carroll.

Strayhorn will be a redshirt freshman next season with the Crimson Tide, and is a name to watch for as a potential replacement for departed center Parker Brailsford, who recently declared for the NFL draft.
