Former Wisconsin inside linebacker Christian Alliegro committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Jan. 8, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
The news arrives just two days after the Badger veteran visited Columbus, Ohio, and met with coach Ryan Day and his staff. The Darien, Connecticut, native elected to join the reigning national champions over opportunities with Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers and Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns. Alliegro ventures to Columbus with one year of eligibility remaining.

During his 2025 campaign at Wisconsin, the 6-foot-4 defensive threat logged 53 total tackles (34 solo), eight tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and a pass deflection in 10 appearances. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten nods for his efforts on the gridiron as a junior.
In three seasons as a Badger, Alliegro tallied 35 appearances, 124 total tackles (81 solo), 14 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks and three pass deflections. He was regarded as the No. 10 linebacker and No. 146 overall player in the winter transfer portal window.
Alliegro becomes the latest notable Badger starter to find a home in the portal. Former quarterback Billy Edwards Jr committed to North Carolina on Sunday, while center Jake Renfro signed with Illinois. Safety Prestman Zachman and offensive lineman Joe Brunner also entered the portal earlier this week.

UW, meanwhile, has added over 20 players thus far in the winter transfer portal cycle.
