The No. 17 Pauls Valley Lady Panthers erased a 9-point first-half deficit with a 17-1 run over a 4-minute stretch in the second half for a 50-35 win over Plainview in the Charles K. Heatly Classic in Lindsay Thursday.
Plainview turned a tight game in the first half into a 9-point lead with a 12-2 run in the second quarter for a 24-15 lead. Maddie Williams drained a 3-pointer just before the 1st half buzzer that cut the lead to 6 at the break, 24-18.

That basket sparked a 9-3 run for PV that cut the lead to 27-24 in the middle of the third quarter. A Hadley Kamas 3-pointer and an Ally Brown free throw gave Plainview a 31-24 lead going into the final minute of the third quarter.
The Lady Panthers finished off the third quarter with 5-of-6 free throws, including 4-of-4 from Kate Taylor, cutting the lead to a basket heading into the fourth quarter.
The five points to end the third, coupled with 12 points in the first 3 minutes of the fourth, were part of the decisive 17-1 run. Taylor had 9 points in the run and Mallory Carter added 7 as PV opened up a 9-point lead.
Plainview got as close as 7 twice late in the game but the Lady Panthers scored 7 straight in the final 2 minutes for a 15-point win.

Carter paced the Lady Panthers with 18 points, 12 of those from beyond the arc. Taylor added 13, Rachel Hamilton 12, Madi Williams 4 and Mati Fishback 3. Abby Cheney led Plainview with 10. Ally Brown added 9, Kamrey Martin 5, Kamas 5, Chloe Coenen 4 and Maci Caldwell 2.
The Lady Panthers face Chickasha at 3:20 p.m. Friday, while Plainview faces Sulphur at 10 a.m.
