January 13’s episode of NXT was a really fun episode. We learned that a six-man ladder match is coming for the NXT Championship. The January 20 episode of NXT will see qualifying matches for that upcoming high-stakes contest.
Josh Briggs will take on Shiloh Hill in a qualifying match. Also, Sean Legacy will take on Eli Knight in another one of the matches to determine who will get in the six-man ladder match.
During the first hour of the show this week, Kendal Grey, Sol Ruca and Zaria were arguing outside of Ava’s office over who should be next in line for the NXT Championship. Jacy Jayne stepped in and brought them into the office, where Ava announced that the four women, along with Fatal Influence, would compete in a #1 Contender’s match for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles. By the end of the segment, a new top contender was set, putting the focus on what comes next for Jacy Jayne.
Ethan Page will also defend the NXT North American Title against Elio LeFleur next week in the French Luchador’s debut match. LeFleur had his first vignette during New Year’s Evil, and it seems that the company will give him quite a spotlight.
The Vanity Project will also take on Chase U next week. This will give the new EVOLVE call-ups a chance to shine on NXT in a big way.
We will have to see how the January 20 episode of NXT pans out. This will be a very important episode, because on February 3, we’re getting a new NXT Champion.
