ANOTHER COMMIT: Michigan football lands Smith Snowden, game-changing DB from Utah

Pierce, a 6-foot, 235-pound linebacker, was named All-Chicago Catholic League, all area and defensive MVP in his senior year at Birmingham Brother Rice. He is the second linebacker Michigan added this week who is related to someone in the program as U-M also signed former BYU linebacker Max Alford, nephew of of running backs coach Tony Alford.

Michigan needs to rebuild its linebacking corps, which lost its top four linebackers from the 2025 team in Cole Sullivan (Oklahoma), Jaishawn Barham (NFL), Jimmy Rolder (NFL) and Ernest Hausmann (medical retirement).
