Where does Texas Tech women’s basketball rank in latest March Madness bracketology?

The Texas Tech women’s basketball bolstered its March Madness résumé last week with another Quad 1 win, beating West Virginia on the road. As one of three undefeated teams left in the country, the Lady Raiders are on track for their first NCAA Tournament since 2013.

Tech, which beat Houston on Tuesday, concludes a pair of home games this week with a matchup against Kansas State on Saturday. The Lady Raiders are in sole possession of first place in the Big 12 through six games.

Here’s where Tech stands in NCAA tournament bracketology as conference play continues.

Texas Tech women’s basketball NCAA Tournament projections

ESPN: 4-seed (Sacramento Region)

For the third consecutive projection, Charlie Creme has the Lady Raiders as a No. 4 seed hosting the first two rounds in Lubbock. Tech is paired against 13-seed McNeese State, the projected Southland Conference champion. The winner would face 5-seed Tennessee or 12-seed Oregon State, Adlee Blacklock’s former squad.

The Athletic: 4-seed (Fort Worth Region)

The Athletic’s first projection was released Jan. 9, before a weekend of games, so take it with a grain of salt. Tech is predicted as a No. 4 seed facing 13-seed UC Irvine, a rematch of a November 2023 contest. Baylor is the 5-seed in the Lubbock quadrant, facing 12-seed Oregon State.

Texas Tech women’s basketball NCAA Tournament résumé, NET ranking

The Lady Raiders (19-0, 6-0) were No. 20 in the NET rankings Jan. 13, before taking down Houston. NET rankings are updated daily, so Tech’s position may have changed with the result.

The Lady Raiders are 2-0 in Quad 1 games, with road wins at Baylor and WVU. Tech is also 1-0 in Quad 2 after beating NET No. 36 Mississippi State at home.
