TaylorMade TP5/TP5x pix Lunar New Year: The First Limited-Edition Golf Ball Story Of 2026

by

Folks, it’s 2026 and TaylorMade is getting the party started early (really early) with TP5 and TP5x pix Lunar New Year golf balls.

Now, I don’t want to be that guy (actually, I’m fine with it) who points out that, technically,  Lunar New Year isn’t until February 17th. It’s like Shark Week all over again, but I suppose it’s better to be early than late.

Still, releasing Lunar New Year balls in January feels a bit like putting up your Christmas tree in October. At least you’ll have plenty of time to stock up before the actual celebration.

What you’re getting

TaylorMade is commemorating the Year of the Fire Horse with these limited edition balls, and each one comes adorned with what the company calls “ornate Lunar New Year symbols.” Each ball is marked with “26” for the current year. You know, in case you forgot.

As with other TaylorMade limited drops, packaging is part of the story. The TP5 features a red designs on a gold base. For the TP5x, TaylorMade inverted things to feature gold designs against a striking red base for both the sleeves and the exterior packaging. It’s a nice touch that gives each model its own distinct identity while maintaining the Lunar New Year theme.

The sidestamp situation

The sidestamp (which the USGA uses to distinguish between models) is where things get interesting for the golf nerds among us. While it’s partially obscured in most photos, the sidestamp on these Lunar New Year balls is different from the current (2024) TP5/TP5x models.

Guys, most golf balls are on two-year refresh cycles, so If you’re the type who likes to get in early on new equipment, this could be your chance to sneak a peek at the new TP5 before its official launch.

For the sake of discretion, let’s call that a maybe.

Pricing and availability

The TaylorMade TP5/TP5x pix Lunar New Year golf balls are priced at $64.99 USD per dozen. It’s a premium price, for sure, but one that’s consistent with other TaylorMade limited edition ball drops.

As with most TaylorMade limited editions, these will likely sell out, so if you’re interested, in using golf balls to commemorate Lunar New Year, act fast, I suppose.

TaylorMade Lunar New Year TP5 and TP5 pix golf balls are available now.
