The Lady Savages fought through some foul trouble with three of their five starters. In the end, Larissa Lopez and Trinity Dotson both fouled out, Lopez at the end of the third quarter and Dotson in the fourth quarter. White picked up her third foul early in the second half and had to sit for part of the third quarter before coming back into the game.

Wynnewood led for all but 80 seconds in the game, that coming after four straight free throws near the end of the third quarter after a foul and a technical foul all on the same Lady Tiger possession. Sterling led 37-36 at that point, but a Jurnee Jones 3-pointer in the closing minute gave Wynnewood the lead for good.

The Jones’ 3-pointer was part of 8 straight points for the senior as the Lady Savages stretched their lead to 44-37 just over a minute into the fourth quarter. A Jones 3-pointer at the 2:45 mark of the fourth gave Wynnewood some momentum, pushing the Lady Savages lead to double digits and sparking an 8-1 run to end the game.

Trinity Dotson and Olivia White got the Lady Savages going early in Saturday’s game. Dotson had 7 points in the opening 8 minutes and White added 6 as Wynnewood jumped out to a 15-11 lead.

Katie Milam’s basket to start the second quarter cut the lead to two. Wynnewood responded with a 12-4 run, including seven straight in the middle of the quarter, including 5 from Lopez, for a 27-17 lead.

Sterling scored five straight late to end the half, including a Mayson Turpin 3-pointer that cut the lead to 27-22 at the break.

Sterling continued to chip away at the lead in the second half. A Landry Curry 3-pointer at the midway point of the third cut the lead to one. White hit four straight points for WW to push the lead back to five, but six straight free throws, including four in one possession, gave the Lady Tigers their first lead of the game at 37-36 with 1:53 remaining.

Jones then got the Lady Savages back on track with a 3-pointer and Wynnewood went on for a 14-point win.
