The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry hit the water on Saturday, Jan. 17, and got a split in Columbus.
The No. 4 Michigan women defeated No. 14 OSU 162-136. Meanwhile, the No. 16 OSU men beat No. 11 Michigan 167-133.
Michigan’s Bella Sims, Letitia Sim, Brady Kendall and Leila Fack won the 200 medley relay in 1:34.56, more than a second ahead of OSU.
Sims won the 200 free in 1:42.65 and the 200 back (1:53.53). Meanwhile, Sim won the 200 breaststroke in 2:08.18. Kendall won the 100 butterfly (51.40).
Sims and Sim teamed up in the 200 IM to go 1-2 with Sims touching the wall in 1:55.98 and Sim taking second in 1:56.87.
Michigan’s Lexi Greenhawt won the 100 backstroke in 51.86. Hannah Bellard won the 200 fly (1:52.85). Brady Kendall took the 50 free in 21.62.
Greenhawt, Kendall, Fack and Stephanie Balduccini won the 400 free relay in 3:21.21.
OSU’s Maria Ramos Najji won the 100 breaststroke in 58.39, ahead of Sim (59.03).
Ohio State’s Mila Nikanorov won the 1000 free in 9:22.37 and 500 free in 4:36.07. Rachel Bockrath won the 100 free (47.85).
In the men’s meet, Ohio State’s Tomas Navikonis won the 200 free in 1:34.29, just ahead of Michigan’s Eitan Ben-Shitrit (1:34.36) and Antoino Sauve (1:34.65).
OSU’s Cornelius Jahn won the 100 back in 45.99 ahead of Jack Wilkening (46.22). Jahn won the 200 back (1:41.54). Matthew Klinge won the 50 free (18.86) and 100 fly (45.02). Tristan Jankovics won the 200 breast (1:54.24) and 200 IM (1:43.67).
Navikonis, Klinge, Ahmed Ismail and Jahn won the 400 free relay in 2:50.84.
Michigan’s Jack Wilkening, Luka Mladenovic, Tyler Ray and Ole Eidam won the 200 medley relay in 1:23.70.
Mladenovic won the 100 breast in 52.02. Eidam won the 100 free (43.10) ahead of Sauve (43.16).
Michigan’s Lorne Wigginton won the 1000 free in 8:54.01 and 500 in 4:1635. Colin Geer won the 200 fly (1:43.85).
