Sunday Headlines: Kentucky Basketball gets another special win at Tennessee

by

The Kentucky Wildcats went on the road yesterday and picked up another win in Knoxville, despite most people thinking they were going to get run off the court in the first half.

The Cats fell behind 41-24, trailing by 17 with about 3 minutes remaining in the first half. The Cats cut it to 11 by halftime, and outscored the Vols by 13 in the second half to come away with a thrilling road victory.

The slow starts this team has each game it seems are frustrating, but when things begin clicking like they did in the second half, this looks like a completely different team. In the second half, Kentucky moved the ball and Denzel Aberdeen caught fire offensively, scoring 18 points after the break.

The Cats also had some big-time shooting performances from Collin Chandler and Jasper Johnson, who combined to shoot 6-9 from deep.

Things haven’t gone according to plan for this team this season, but maybe the Cats can build some momentum off back-to-back road wins in the SEC. Kentucky has a couple of big home games coming up this week, with Texas coming in to Rupp Arena on Wednesday and Ole Miss coming in on Saturday.
