USA Today placed FSU at No. 22 in its way-too-early top 25, the sole publication to do so this week:
Hereβs another gamble on a fallen ACC power. FSU hasnβt been the same since 2023 but will rebound next season thanks in part to transfers such as running back Tre Wisner (Texas), offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin (Auburn), quarterback Ashton Daniels (Auburn) and linebackers Chris Jones (Southern Mississippi) and Mikai Gbayor (North Carolina). Another factor to consider is how the Seminoles will benefit from another offseason under offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, defensive coordinator Tony White and offensive line coach Herb Hand.

FSU hasnβt had a dream season to start under Luke Loucks, but Tuesdayβs win over Miami showcased what the first-year coach has cooking in Tallahassee:
Florida State womenβs basketball (6-13, 1-6 ACC) is on the road to take on SMU (8-11, 1-6 ACC) tonight at 7:30 p.m.:

Florida State has six players averaging at least 8.0 points per game, led by Solè Williams who is averaging 15.0 per game.
The Seminoles also lead the ACC in free throws made per game (14.89) and attempts (19.95), as Jasmine Shavers leads the league in free throw percentage at 85.7.
