LSU football and Lane Kiffin have done it again. On Friday, the Tigers secured a commitment from Colorado transfer Jordan Seaton, the top-ranked offensive lineman in the transfer portal.
Per the On3 Industry Rankings, Seaton is the No. 4 overall player in this year’s transfer class. That gives LSU three of the top four players, with QB Sam Leavitt ranking No. 1 and DE Princewill Umanmielen sitting at No. 3. Kiffin earned the reputation of “Transfer Portal King” at Ole Miss. LSU paid Kiffin to do the same thing in Baton Rouge, and so far, he’s done just that.

Seaton, LSU’s 40th transfer signee, is likely the final addition of the cycle. The commitment was the exclamation point on what was already the best transfer class in the country. With the level of talent coming to Baton Rouge, along with the talent retained, Kiffin will face expectations in year one. This roster is good enough to win now.
LSU’s three biggest needs when the portal opened were quarterback, offensive line, and wide receiver. The Tigers addressed all three areas with elite players.
At QB, LSU signed Leavitt along with Longstreet. Both were coveted players. LSU signed a handful of wide receivers, including Kansas State transfer Jayce Brown, one of the Big 12’s most efficient and explosive pass catchers.
LSU replenished the offensive line room. Seaton was the best of the bunch, giving LSU a bona fide starter at left tackle. Elsewhere, LSU signed several linemen with multiple years of eligibility remaining.

On defense, LSU didn’t have a ton of needs with DC Blake Baker returning, along with star CB DJ Pickett and LB Whit Weeks. Defensive end was a need, though, and LSU added Umanmielen along with former Tennessee pass rusher Jordan Ross.
This roster will be among the highest-paid in college football. It might even be at the top of the list in 2026. In the modern era of college football, rebuilds don’t take four years anymore. Coaches are expected to win fast. Curt Cignetti just led Indiana to a national title in his second year on the job.
Kiffin and staff have the talent they need to compete for a national title this fall with Seaton on board. There aren’t many holes on this roster and when you look around the sport, there’s no Death Star roster out there. LSU’s collection of talent is as good as any.
