Novak Djokovic added yet another landmark to his remarkable career on Saturday at the Australian Open, where he became the first man to earn 400 match wins at the majors. The 38-year-old Serbian reached the milestone with a straight-sets victory against Botic van de Zandschulp, further extending his lead atop the all-time list, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

Djokovic now sits 31 wins clear of Roger Federer, who occupies second place with 369 major match victories, underlining the extraordinary longevity and consistency that have defined Djokovicโ€™s two-decade career at the highest level of the sport.

The win also carried added significance in Melbourne, where Djokovic equalled Federerโ€™s record of 102 Australian Open match wins. The World No. 4 in the PIF ATP Rankings will have the opportunity to stand alone atop that list when he faces either Jakub Mensik or Ethan Quinn in the fourth round.

Djokovicโ€™s journey at the majors began more than 20 years ago, when he claimed his first major match win against Robby Ginepri at Roland Garros in 2005. Since then, the former World No. 1 has amassed a record 24 major titles, with Melbourne Park proving to be his most successful stage in terms of titles.

A record 10-time Australian Open champion, Djokovic last lifted the trophy in 2023. Djokovic has looked comfortable through his first three matches this fortnight, also defeating Spaniard Pedro Martinez and Italian qualifier Francesco Maestrelli in straight sets. The fourth seed is seeded to meet two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals.
