An in-state prospect from the 2027 recruiting class visited LSU football for the program’s junior day. Jaylen Haywood was on campus with head coach Lane Kiffin, per a post to Haywood’s social media account Saturday.
Haywood also made a social media post with a picture of him and LSU offensive line coach Eric Wolford when the latter made a trip to visit Haywood at his high school.

A native of Amite, LA, Haywood attends Amite High School. His hometown is just over 60 miles away from Baton Rouge. Rivals lists him at six-foot-seven and 377 pounds as an interior offensive lineman.
Rivals’ Industry Rankings gives Haywood a three-star rating. He’s slotted No. 73 at his position and No. 20 out of Louisiana. He currently holds offers from Florida State, Baylor and Mississippi State among others from smaller Division I schools.
It’s worth noting that fellow Amite native and LSU director of scouting and personnel strategy Sam Petitto has a history of identifying prospects from his hometown. The most notable is arguably former Alabama wide receiver and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith. Petitto worked under Nick Saban for eight years.
