It’s time to celebrate your chess consistency with Chess.com’s new Streaks feature! Whether you’re looking to build good habits to improve your game or show off just how passionate you are about chess, you can now do it by starting and maintaining a streak.
Starting or maintaining a streak is simpleโand fun! All you need to do is play or study chess on Chess.com. As you keep your streak going longer, its flame will change colors. How long can you keep it going?
There are many ways to build a streak by playing. You can play a rated or unrated game against another member, make a move in a Daily game, or even play a chess variant. Soon, playing Coach or bots will also count toward your streaks. What matters is that you keep playing consistently!ย
If you want to keep your streak fire burning, you can also use our most popular training tools. You can sharpen your skills with our Puzzles, gain new insights with our Lessons, or learn from your gameplay with Game Review.

But how consistent do you need to be?
Streaks stay active even if you skip two days. This means you can keep your streak going even if you have to go away for the weekend or have a couple of busy days at work or school.
For example, if you play on a Thursday evening during your coffee break, your day will count toward a streak. You can then skip Friday and Saturday and still keep your streak going by playing or practicing before midnight on Sunday.ย

The new Streaks feature is an exciting way to encourage you to stay consistent with your chess habits. Whether you’re just challenging yourself to see how far you can take it or want to be that friend with the most impressive streak, we hope you have fun with this new feature!
