Through the first few months of the women’s college basketball season, the Texas Longhorns have been one of the best teams in the nation. They have gotten off to a 19-2 start with no signs of slowing down. Due to their play, the Lady Longhorns are currently ranked fourth in the country and will get the shine on the national stage in less than a week.
On February 1, ESPN’s College GameDay will return for the 2025-26 women’s college basketball season and make its first stop in Austin. It will mark the first of five on-campus visits for the women’s college basketball edition of the pregame show. The festivities are set to kick off at 11:00 AM CT on ESPN from inside Moody Center before Texas takes on Oklahoma.
For Texas, this also presents the opportunity to make a statement against an SEC team. So far this season, they have gone 4-2 in conference play. They are also 13-0 at home and are the second-highest-ranked team in the SEC, trailing only South Carolina.

As the Longhorns have risen to the top of the standings, they have been led by familiar faces. That includes Madison Booker, who has once again been a scoring machine, averaging a team-high 19 points per game. She has gotten some help from Rori Harmon, who is averaging seven assists per game. That duo has made Texas a hard team to plan against.
When College GameDay arrives on campus, it will represent a major milestone for the Longhorns. It will be the first time Texas has hosted GameDay for women’s basketball and will be their second appearance, following the SEC Championship last season. If they can continue to build on their success, then it should be an appearance that fans never forget.
