India’s dominance in white-ball cricket has once again reflected in the latest ICC rankings update, with multiple Indian players making notable gains across T20I charts. While Abhishek Sharma continues to enjoy a dream run at the very top of the T20I batting rankings, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has made a strong return to the top 10 following a series of impactful knocks against New Zealand.

Suryakumar Yadav’s resurgence sparks ranking rise

After a brief dip in form, Suryakumar has reminded the cricketing world of his class with two unbeaten half-centuries in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. His fluent 82* in the second T20I was followed by a composed 57* in the third match, performances that underlined his leadership and batting maturity.

Those efforts have translated into a significant jump in the ICC T20I batting rankings, with the Indian skipper climbing five places to reach No. 7. The rise not only strengthens India’s presence in the top bracket but also signals Suryakumar’s return as a consistent run-getter in the shortest format.

Abhishek Sharma tightens grip on No 1 spot

At the very top, Abhishek has further cemented his position as the world’s leading T20I batter. His explosive outings against New Zealand, including a breathtaking 84 off just 35 balls and a blistering 68* from 20 deliveries, have boosted his rating points tally to 929.

Despite suffering a rare duck in the series, Abhishek’s overall impact has been overwhelming. He now enjoys an 80-point lead over second-placed Phil Salt, highlighting the gap he has created through sheer consistency and attacking intent. Tilak Varma remains third, despite being sidelined for the remainder of the five-match series against New Zealand.

India’s all-round depth has also been rewarded in the rankings. Hardik Pandya has moved up one spot to third place in the T20I all-rounders’ chart. His contributions with both bat and ball, including four wickets against New Zealand and 142 runs in the recent South Africa series, have kept him firmly among the elite.

Meanwhile, Shivam Dube has enjoyed a sharp rise, climbing six places to No. 11. Dube has impressed with timely wickets in the current series and a crucial unbeaten 36 off 18 balls in the second T20I.

Among bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah has inched closer to the top tier after his Player-of-the-Match performance in the third T20I. His figures of 3 for 17 have pushed him up four places to No. 13, underlining his continued impact even in pressure situations.
