After two wins last week, LSU women’s basketball climbed one spot in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches poll. In Tuesday’s edition, the Tigers ranked No. 5. It matches their highest spot after starting the season as the fifth-ranked team in the country.
Texas and UCLA each moved up one spot to No. 2 and 4, respectively. South Carolina dropped one spot to No. 3 after a 1-1 week. The Gamecocks fell to Oklahoma but followed it up with a win over Vanderbilt. It was the Commodores’ first loss of the season, which dropped them two spots to No. 6.

Head coach Kim Mulkey’s team takes the court next on Thursday when it welcomes Arkansas to the PMAC. The Tigers stay home until Sunday for a ranked matchup against Alabama, which climbed one spot in the poll to No. 22.
