Texas A&M’s 2026 spring football schedule revealed

by

Texas A&M’s 2025 football season ended at 11-2, while earning its first trip to the College Football Playoff amid head coach Mike Elko’s second season at the helm. However, losing to Texas on the road to end the regular season, combined with falling to national runner-up Miami 10-3 in a game that should have gone the other way, was certainly frustrating after a historic campaign.

Still, Elko undoubtedly made progress in Year 2, and after offensive coordinator Collin Klein made his move to Kansas State, taking over as the newest head coach of his alma mater, Texas A&M’s 2026 coaching staff features several new names, coupled with key elevations, including wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins taking over as the new OC.

After the transfer portal opened on January 9, Elko and his staff went to work, landing 17 portal commitments, led by the late acquisition of Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton, while Northwestern transfer edge Anto Saka is one of NFL scouts’ favorite prospects, and will look to replace outgoing unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell.

Starting quarterback Marcel Reed will return for his third season, and second full starting season, and will be playing behind a new offensive line that features four transfer additions, who all started within the SEC last season. In nearly every early preseason ranking, Texas A&M came in at No. 8, as the national media is beginning to trust Mike Elko’s building plan despite losing double-digit players to the 2026 NFL Draft.

On Wednesday night, Texas A&M’s 2026 spring football schedule, which will begin next month, was released to the public. The Aggies will hit the field starting on Friday, March 20, with a total of 15 practices ending on Saturday, April 18.

The question of whether practices are available to the public is currently unknown. Combined with 25 newcomers from the 2026 signing class, minus tight end Evan Jacobson, who will arrive this summer, Texas A&M’s 42 new scholarship players will showcase their talent over the 15-day practice period.
