Florida football WR Eric Singleton named CBS Sports top 100 transfer

by

Florida football’s transfer portal class picked up another nationally recognized piece when wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. landed on CBS Sports’ top 100 transfer rankings, sliding in at No. 32.

Florida brought Singleton to Gainesville after a college journey that included stops at Georgia Tech and Auburn.

During his two seasons at Georgia Tech, he totaled 104 receptions for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. He then transferred to Auburn for the 2025 season, where he started all 12 games and recorded 58 catches for 534 yards and three scores.

One of the more telling notes about his consistency is that he has caught at least one pass in every collegiate game he’s played, a streak that is up to 36 games and the sixth-longest active at the FBS level.

From a roster-building perspective, Singleton’s recognition reinforces why Florida targeted him. National transfer rankings are not guarantees, but they do reflect consensus scouting opinions, and being listed among the portal’s top players signals immediate impact potential.

Singleton’s familiarity with the Gators’ coaching staff also helped draw him to Gainesville, as new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner worked with him back at Georgia Tech. But after Singleton transferred to Auburn, his numbers took a dip, and he wanted to look for another opportunity elsewhere during the offseason.

CBS Sports’ Cooper Petagna directed his attention to Auburn’s “inconsistent” play at the quarterback position, saying that’s a reason why Singleton’s numbers didn’t jump out on the stat sheet.

Here is everything Petagna said about Singleton.

What CBS Sports said about Singleton

“The No. 1-ranked receiver in the transfer portal just a year ago, Singleton’s season fell short of expectations as inconsistent quarterback play limited the potential of a talented receiving corps on the Plains. A versatile weapon capable of operating in the slot or on the perimeter, Singleton now looks to reunite with former Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner to help rebuild his NFL draft stock.”
